Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS)
A NASA/JPL instrument on the Aqua satellite launched into orbit May 4, 2002. It has been used to create global maps of carbon dioxide, water vapor, temperature, carbon monoxide, ozone, clouds, surface properties, dust, methane, outgoing longwave radiation, and sulfur dioxide. (web site)
