CH4

Also: methane, Methane

Methane (CH4)

Methane gas is both a fuel and a powerful greenhouse gas. It is the main component of natural gas, and when burned, it becomes carbon dioxide (CH4 + 2O2 ⟶ CO2 + 2H2O).

According to the AGGI, methane contributes 17% of the human-caused greenhouse effect.
