And now a group of researchers have studied a recent extreme weather event - a heatwave across Europe - to see just how much more deadly it became, due to climate change. This first of its kind study reveals just how dangerous global warming already is today. But it doesn't need to be this way. Because there's plenty we can do to protect ourselves from the heat - now and in the future.
