Following the last post-glacial warming, a rapid climate oscillation with a cooling lasting about 400 years occurred about 8.2 ka. This event is also referred to as the 8.2kyr event.
The last post-glacial warming was the end of the most recent glacial cycle, about 20,000 years ago. The 'k' in this term means 'kilo' - 1000 -and 'yr' or 'a' mean years. So an event around 8,200 years ago
