Neptun erwärmt sich

Wissenschaftliche Belege zeigen...

Eine Umkreisung Neptuns um die Sonne dauert 164 Jahre, weshalb unsere Beobachtungen (von 1950 bis heute) weniger als ein Drittel eines Neptunjahres ausmachen. Klimamodellierungen legen den Schluss nahe, dass die Aufhellung Neptuns jahreszeitlich bedingt ist. Es könnte als z. B. sein, dass für Neptuns Südhalbkugel gerade der Sommer anfängt.

Im April 2007 veröffentlichte Heidi Hammel eine Studie, die Neptuns Aufhellung mit der Erwärmung der Erde und Sonnenvariationen verglich:

Sie kam zu dem Schluss, dass - obwohl sie statistisch nicht korrellierten - die Muster visuell überzeugen und dass planetarischer Klimawandel durch solare Variationen bedingt sein könnte.
